Hey. I am really happy to have a working OS x86 system now (that is what I am posting on right now!) and I will like someone to point me towards a way to get the two aforementioned pieces of hardware (ATI X1800XL and Realtek ALC882) fully compatible under OS x86. I know there is a way, but I can't find it. Thank you!

This is my set up:

OS x86 version: 10.4.5

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

Motherboard: MSI RD480 Neo2

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon All In Wonder X1800XL

RAM: 1 GB (2x 512mb)

DVD Burner: 1x Internal NEC 1x External Firewire NEC

Hard Drive: 250 Gb Western Digital ATA100

Other: Floppy Drive and Internal USB 2.0 52-in-1 Card ReadeProcessor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

There's a thread under the "Drivers" subforum that deals with the ALCXXX audio chipsets here. It doesn't look to be too different from your ALC882, so the solution will likely be similar. I'm running ALC250 and it helped me.

As for your ATI card, there's an effort to get decent ATI drivers written, tested, and running; there's a lot of threads with "ATI" in the title at any rate. Apple seems to only have x86 support for Integrated Intel graphics solutions and certain ATI ones.

Good luck.
