The Lobe
Hello all, After successfully installing OSX 10.5 from this tutorial, I ran the combo update, and then ran the kernel update. Upon reboot, my machine just hung at the grey Apple screen. There was no CPU activity, and the drives weren't even spinning. Anyone else run into this problem?? or does it just take a really long time after the kernel update, because I had only waited about 8 minutes or so. On a similar note, is there a way to roll back the old kernel? I did the backup step in the guide, but don't know how to retrieve that kernel. Thanks!! Shadow_2k
Did you boot with "update -v" (without "") after clicking the restart button?
The Lobe
I've actually just reinstalled with the vanilla kernel, I originally had the Kalyway default. It was because I wasn't typing "update -v", of course I discovered this after I've already reinstalled. But, on a more positive note, I'm up and running, everything is working great !!
