Big_Dawg
Hi: It was amazingly easy to install 10.4.5. from the Myz.iso; this is my first OSx86 install. However, I cannot seem to get the sound working. My MB is a Intel 945, but it has Realtek ALC655 sound. I have tried installing one of the ac97audio.kext files, finally got permissions straight, but still no sound. I have no way other than lspci in Knoppix to get PCI Vendor/Device IDs, as this is not a dual boot machine (No windows). lspci does not seem to be returning the expected information. Its a little confusing cobbling together resolution of this problem from the several versions of the OSx86 installs. Any ideas?

Skweez
Did you get a successful solution for your problem? Is now everything working ok?
Sabr
You guys need to try going through this: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Audio It fixed it for me
Big_Dawg
I used the Wiki, didn't work. May have something to do with the fact that my MB has Intel 945G + ICH7 chipset and Realtek ALC655 6-Channel AC97 CODEC. Most of the other configurations (and kext files) seem to anticipate ICH6 with that codec.
Big_Dawg
The answer is in the ICH7. I found that the kext file had to be rewritten for it. See http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry177444
