gt500
Hey I installed 10.4.3 perfectly. Followed Maxxuss guide to the letter to intall 10.4.4 ... This went perfectly, until i rebooted ... My computer just hangs after he's trying to boot from my cd/dvd drives (no dvd/cd-rom in drives). In the guide it says: If your CPU has no SSE3 support, make sure you copy the patched boot loader files to your "/usr/standalone/i386" folder on your running 10.4.3 system. Most important is the file "boot". This has to be done before you create and format the 10.4.4 target volume! (You can make a backup of the original contents of "/usr/standalone/i386", but only restore it when your 10.4.4 system is installed and is working.) Ok .. but do i have to copy these files to "/usr/standalone/i386" on my volume where i installed 10.4.4 ? 'Cuz when i list the files in "/usr/standalone/i386" on 10.4.4 volume it says ... boot.efi So can anyone help me with this ? Thx In Advance! grtz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12909-just-a-quick-question/ Share on other sites
bofors
Ok .. but do i have to copy these files to "/usr/standalone/i386" on my volume where i installed 10.4.4 ? Maxxuss' seems to be indicating that you need to copy those boot files to your 10.4.3 installation not the 10.4.4 (which should not even exist at that point in his instructions).
