This is a Repost I posted in the wrong forum so it will be easy to find.

i just want to post so i can help others out who ran into the same trouble i did after updating to 10.5.5. :tomato:

I have a kalyway system and a iAtkos v4 system both updated to 10.5.5 and the kexts work on both systems and should work on most systems.

Kext are still working on 10.5.8 there is a new universal injector by netkas but for some reason i can not get it to work on my card. But it works great on my nvidia 9600gt. Maybe someone has gotten it to work for them.

After playing around on my hackmac i realized that that there are people out there that are still using 10.5.0 - 10.5.4 who can not update for what ever reason and so i decided to post other solutions that may help and make this forum almost a one stop shop for x1600 for now.

Here are some solutions that have worked for me in the past that could help out on 10.5.1 -10.5.5. Here are some solutions:

 

 

1. A very nice person named dionysosss gave me some kext using a method posted at this forum http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry678401 beware it does not work on kalyway 10.5.3 combo update i had to use Jas 10.5.3 combo update to continue to use dionysosss kext some other method will work if you use kalyway combo update.

 

 

2. i used this kext fixed that worked also at this forum http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...0.5.2+fix+x1600

 

3. I downloaded ideneb v1.1 and extracted the kext i need and it worked for 10.5.4

 

4. For 10.5.5 i used kext made by empty skull over at insanelymac community. that works perfect on my system after 2 :D weeks of searching. (this was god sent). And they have other kexts there also for other devices too. ;)

Link at the bottom. Do not use the natit kext use all kext pertaining to your card including the atinject and use the Extensions Repair App to repair permissions. Done. Also check out this site http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=128176

5. There is manual method i used that worked for 10.5.4 and below

Everyone, this may seem like over kill but for Noobs like me who could not get their cards to work who have search high and low this will help and should make life easier.I am not a mac pro tech so all credits goes to those mentioned above I just wanted to post solutions that helped me any maybe able to help you. :(

 

Remember the atiject.kext.txt is just for thoes who want to do it manually on 10.5.4 and below!! :D

It appears that these kext still work for 10.5.7. I have used it on my retail installs and my Kalyway.

 

It seems that the link for some the kexts are dead so until i can upload the files to rapidshare just pm me with email address so that i can send it to you.

1. remove all ATI* including ATIinjection.

3. After the update finnished, DO NOT restart yet, run UInstaller and check everything except setting the Graphic EFI string.

4. Run OSX86Tools and enable the GL.

5. reboot (you meight experience once or twice auto reboot with a blank screen, leave it and let it reboot by itself.)

 

I got a fully working system with vanilla kernel, fast and stable than ever!

ok i will check it and reupload if needed :)

 

 

 

just downloaded and tried it, i had not trouble .

 

make sure you have winrar installed to open the file if you use windows

 

I will create a zip file.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

I'm running leopard 10.5.5 (boot-123 method with retail dvd + upgrade) after installing the kexts I can get QE/CI but no change resolution and it shows some artifacts on the pointer. The case is I tried first macloving installer (it works like a charm on 10.5.2) which gives me change resolution and no artifacts but I can't get QE/CI enabled. Any suggestion?

I am not sure what you did but this is what i did.

 

I download from the mediafire link and the atiinject from above

then copy them to the extentions folder.This is what you need to copy to your extentions folder

ATIRadeonX1000VADriver.bundle

ATIRadeonX1000GA.plugin ( this kext is for your id )

I had the same problem but it was because i did not have the atinject installed.

I had the same problem but it was because i did not have the atinject installed.

 

 

Thanks Dude, it was just that! the ATIinject.kext was not properly installed...
