tkw722
I am having somewhat of an odd issue. I have installed OSX86 on my hard drive in the past to test it out and see how it would perform for me. It installed just fine and I was able to boot it from the DVD. I then used Hiren's boot CD to fix the bootup so I no longer needed the DVD. Everything was working great. This was all with 10.4.4. Since then, I had installed Fedora Core 5 onto the hard drive. Once I found out that it wasn't going to work as well as Core 4, I chucked it. I saw the macvidia driver was out in beta and decided to give OSX86 another try. Now... Whenever I install it I get the /com.apple.Boot.plist is not found error message. So I used Hiren's boot CD like before to fix it so I no longer needed to use the DVD to boot off of. Once I did that, I just got the black screen with the blinking cursor. I have tried everything. I have reformatted the drive over and over in the OSX setup disk utility. I've used FDisk to make the disk the active partition. I have gone through everything. Did Linux really do something to my drive that much to prevent OSX from booting on it again in the future? Any help would be much appreciated! FullMetal
The easiest thing to do would be to Wipe the Drive and re-install. Also, the problem could be the Disk utility on your OSx86 DVD. Some have said that the 10.4.4 and 10.4.4/5 Install DVD's have problems with creating working partitions. Next time you re-install use the DVD, but if the same thing happens use a Linux Live CD. Good Luck, FullMetal Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12885-linux-killed-my-osx/#findComment-81754 Share on other sites
