Isight
Hi I just have a few questions, I was not sure to ask them hear or in another fourm, but here it goes. I have a white iMac core 2 duo and it is not making the grade for my photoshop work. I need something with more power. A mac pro would be ideal but being in high school that is out of the question in terms of money. So I am thinking about some thing that I thought I would never do, build a hackintosh. I want to make it like a mac pro in every way posable, like Xeon/Opteron processors, lots of HD, good video card, stuff like that. Now this all might not go in to this right a way but would like it to get there. So my questions are 1) Can I build a hackintosh with Tiger 10.4.11? 2) Will I have access to all the features of mac os x? 3) Can I use Virtual Box? 4) How much power will I lose? 5) Can I use AMD Opteron Processors/motherboards? Here are the motherboards I am looking at. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...&CatId=3692 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...&CatId=1183 Thank you. PS. price is sort of a problem if you have not already figured out.

Wman
Wow. Dude. I am in exactly the same situation as you. I even have a white intel duo imac. I really want to do the mac pro case mod too though. I will keep myself updated on this. I was totally looking for a dual socket MB too but I couldnt find a good one. I might just use one of those (not one of those fancy like 800$ ones) awsome!
