ciki022
Hi, I read a lot about installing OS X86 on PC and I found few installation instructions. First I formatted my disk, make 5.5 GB primary partition at the end of disk. Then I got Mac OS X 10.4.4 osx86 DVD, boot, start install, passed DVD check and on partitioner there was first problem. I could not select desired partition to format it, also could not erase selected partition. After few tries I decided to format entire ( yes, ENTIRE ) hard drive, no matter of data loss ( I had some stuff backed up ). Installation continue and 3 or 4 minutes before end ( when copy Mail ) just stops with message like "There were errors and install can not continue - reinstall". I tried it two more times and same situation ( also tried on AMD Sempron 64 3200 and install stops at same place ). DVD check passed every time, so DVD is not damaged, right ? I have Celeron D 2.13 Ghz overclocked 3.2 Ghz on Intel 848 board, memory DDR PQI 200 Mhz, FSB 800 Mhz ( other components are not important ). I know that Mac OS X 10.4.4 osx86 can be installed on my computer, right ? Thanks for any ideas. XanthraX
I guess your Installer DVD has some problems. Try to create in Windows an ISO image with UltraIso. Stay near computer and listen if your DVD drive can read the entire contents of the DVD as continuously is possible (without interruptions and speed variations). If contrary, your DVD is damaged. You can get other installer DVD, or try to copy the DVD contents on other media (TDK -R works excellent to me). Verify the MD5 checksum of the ISO image if you can create one. Remember! During installation The MacOS installer verifies all packages and is verry sensitive with this verification. ciki022
XanthraX Thanks for Your suggestions. I allready tried to copy this DVD but situation is the same. I will try to make ISO and checksum it ( but I dont know how, is there any app to create and verify MD checksum ). Strange thing is that DVD check during installation passed well every time I tried to install.
