skyliner34
Hi, Can anyone tell me a good ATI card I can use in OSX. I want to get Core Image & Quartz Extreme enabled. It needs to be an AGP slot, and if it matters i'll be using a 19" CRT with a res of 1280x1024 @ 85Hz or 100Hz. And it needs to be as good as my FX5500 or better. Thanks in advance. Sky My Sapphire 9600 works OK. The only problem is the mouse tearing problem, which can be leviated by Mousepose although not perfectly solved. I don't have complaints otherwise. mrhotwings
my radeon 9800 pro works ok although default res is only 1024 x 768 but i think i can change it with "Graphics Mode" = QE, CI, Opengl supported mouse tears, lose mouse cursor when exit from full screen (in iPhoto, Q2) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12832-most-sutable-ati-card/#findComment-81454 Share on other sites
mcdull
the worst problem is that the mouse will disappear after fullscreen openGL. No fix yet. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12832-most-sutable-ati-card/#findComment-81463 Share on other sites

skyliner34
Thanks guys. I brought a Radeon 9550. But theres a jumper on the card to change it to a 9600 . Everything works fine in OS X. Shame about the mouse artifacts. That spoils it a bit. And using mousepose to resolve some of the artifact problems slows down the OS a bit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12832-most-sutable-ati-card/#findComment-82450 Share on other sites
