KenOath
Howdy folks. I recently obtained a dvd with 10.4.1 for x86 & was wondering if it would install on my main system which runs an athlon XP 2400+ @ 2ghz with 768mb of ram plus an ati 9200se graphics... I have pull out hard-drive caddies & installed a new samsung 20gig drive for the job, booted from the dvd, which said press enter to install, but in doing so it does nothing after showing me a little apple... I pressed the f8 once { I think it was f8 } where it says something like it installs showing the processes along the way { from memory } & remember seeing it detect the ati card, but then just hang again... I searched the iso for instructions but only found a pdf document about what apple systems it was meant to be installed on, couldn't find any reference to it being for an x86 system, even though others who obtained the same iso said they had no probs doing so... Thanks... Ken... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12747-attempting-to-install-osx-1041-for-x86/ Share on other sites
theSpam
No, it won't install since OSx86 requires SSE2 and Athlon XP processors only comes with SSE. niteice
HOLY {censored} IT'S KENOATH Anyway yeah, definitely not working. If you have another machine it'll work on I'd recommend using 10.4.4/5.
