Hey guys. I am currently running into a couple issues with my laptop hackintosh. Here are the following specs:

Brand/Model: HP 8510p

CPU: Intel C2D 7300 2.0Ghz (both cores working correctly)

RAM: 2GB (2x1 Dual Channel 667Mhz)

HD: 160GB SATA

Chipset: ICH8?

Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M 256MB (a couple of issues, see below)

Wireless: Broadcom BCM4312 (works perfectly like an airport card)

OSX Distro: iDeneb 10.5.4 version 1.1

Kernel: Vanilla 9.4.0

Video Card Drivers: nvinjectGo 0.2.0c

Audio: Works through speakers only, no mic/headphone support currently

Multicard Reader: Does not work, haven't tried drivers yet

PCMCIA controller: Ricoh based, every PCCard fix seems to {censored} out video/system, still not working

As you can see, it seems that the system detects the card correctly and I am getting CI/QE and so on. If I remember right, getting everything working required the NVinjectGo package and adding an EFI string via OSX86Tools. The problem is that OSX does not detect a screen. Boot is decently fast, until it goes to a black screen. About 3-5min later, the screen comes on and the login window shows up. After that, if I dare close the lid on the laptop and have the screen turn off, I open it back up to a frozen screen/frozen system. So far, I have tried many different NVCAPs, both forcing it under NVinjectGo and under the EFI string. Nothing changes when I edit those. I've tried a couple other injectors (NVkush as an example) and even with no injectors at all. After setting the EFI, OSX seems to hold its understanding of the card. I even added the vendor ID/device ID to a bunch of related kexts and still nothing.

I really do not care much about the long boot, but closing the screen and having it freeze on me is a big pita right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I have attached the ioreg information as well. Thanks!

UPDATE:

I tried adding the vendor/device IDs into Resman and V50Hal and all it would do is show "NVDA: probe(C14B) failed" and freeze the system. What's funny is I never had issues with selecting resolutions before, now I am stuck with 1680x1050x32. I'll keep playing with it however. Also, with limited support and no hardware support, I can now close my laptop and not have it freeze as well.

There has to be a way, this card is basically a 8600M GT.

I am back to having the 570m run with full compatibility, but when I close the screen, the laptop either shuts off or it freezes. The boot times have decreased after removing a bunch of kexts that were only causing errors. Could this be ACPI related?

Hi,

Would you be so kind to elaborate, how did you installed NVinjectGo and added EFI string?

I do have Thikpad T61p and the same Quadro 570 video card.

I would like to try to do the same

Thanks

Ditto to this. I installed NVinjectGo and NVKush and rebooted -- it just hangs on boot.

Second thing is -- What is the EFI string you used? Could you please be more specific about how you're going through the initial setup. Simply being able to select a resolution would be an improvement over my current setup. I am running a t61p as well.

Also, how slow are you talking when you say "slow". I'm waiting a few minutes. Are you suggesting it takes longer than that? 15 minutes?

Thanks
