cmdshft
Ok, this is a reference guide, and may not be needed by some of you. I've had lot's of trouble trying to solve the dreaded "About This Mac" crashing, but I finally found a solution. There is a ToH kext available, and it does it's job well, even on my 10.5.5 system. First, download this ToH appleSMBIOS: AppleSMBIOS.kext.zip Install it into /System/Library/Extensions Authenticate, and then open terminal and enter: sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext Reboot and enjoy a working "About This Mac". Works on 10.5.5. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/126597-guide-stop-about-this-mac-from-crashing-on-leopard-105/ Share on other sites
