Video Playback Issues On NTFS Volumes

If i put this in the wrong place, I apologize. This spot looked like the best one.

So as you may already know, my specs are as follows...

Kalyway 10.5.2 on

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H rev 1.1

AMD Athlon X2 5000+

1 GB DDR2 800 RAM

Seagate Barracuda 200GB (where OS X is installed on a 20GB partition)

WD 20GB (just for a Windows XP install)

Some videos I play off of the NTFS partition on the internal 200 gig drive glitch up in places as though they're corrupt (they're not, nor is the partition). Quicktime shows this as garbled blocks, and MPlayer simply closes the video. However, this is only SOME videos, not all, and this only occurs on my NTFS partition. Strangely enough, the same files will play just fine if they're copied from the internal to my external hard drive in Windows then played from the external in OS X.

And yes, I'm VERY sure this partition is fine. I've diskchecked it, scanned it senseless, and tried playing the same videos in Windows. No glitches.

It appears the same thing happens when I play a video off the 20 gig drive. Again, only some videos are affected. As for videos on my Mac partition? No problems. Period.

Thanks in advance if anyone can figure this out. It's confusing the heck out of me. ;):D
