Ey guys,

I've got a Toshiba Tecra A2 with a Sigmatel C-Major soundcard with vendor ID 8086 and Device ID 24c5.

If I follow the guide at the wiki, my soundcard doesn't show up. If I use the vendor ID from the vendor ID list somewhere else at this forum it doesn't show up either. The kext's load perfectly fine but I just don't get a soundcard in Systempreferences.

Hope someone can help

I just found out that the kext gives a problem.

When I look up the status of the kext (AppleAC97Audio.kext) it gives the following (translated from dutch) error: No valid version of this dependancy has been found

It also says that the kext doesn't have a receipt.

I hope someone knows what the solution for this would be.

I have the same problem with this soundcard in my Fujitsu labtop. I follow the guide at the wiki, it sitll doesn't work.

This worked for me, in the bios itself set the configuration for devices not "via os" but via bios. Than your sound should work, how to get into the bios with a toshiba you can read here:

Hmm, that sounds like something I should try, but I don't know how to access the BIOS settings on my laptop without installing Windows + that Toshiba utility for changing BIOS settings.. Is there any way to access the BIOS settings without this on a Toshiba laptop?

EDIT: Never mind, it was just good ol' Escape.. I was trying Ctrl-alt-del, Del and a bunch of others when I found it.. silly me..

I git the exact same problem.. but I can't chang the device settings in my bios - as a matter of fact there is nothing that says device in my bios.

I only have the tabs:

main - advanced - security - display - boot - exit

am I doing somthing wrong? or is my notebook bios not just not able to do this?
