goofy
i wondered wy here are no discussions about the upcomming coreduo hardware, like the new boards who hit the market these days,as the Aopen i975Xa-YDG for example. Then the allready available Coreduo got a board Do anyone have suggestions or infos. I like to buy one these new boards with a coreduo, and want to add two x1600 pasive cooled in a crossfire enviroment, which should give adequate gaming performance in windows. Sorry my english is not the best, i hope you understood what i mean Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12446-what-about-the-upcomming-coreduo-boards/ Share on other sites

Sorry my english is not the best, i hope you understood what i mean I doubt two X1600s are the way to go with that board, buy a X1800XL/XT since crossfire is not supported by current OSX86 drivers anyway and those cards won't perform -at high resolutions especially- anywhere near an X1800XT under windows, which costs a little bit more than two X1600s. Also under OSX you should get much better performance out of an X1800XT/XL as well, unibin games should be out soon. If you care about silence go with a Zalman aftermarket cooler, they are affordable and very efficient/silent. that's just my 2 cents. goofy
the two x1600 are just an idea. Im thought it is interesting cause you can cool them passively. Osx crossfiresupport is not very interesting for me. You really think Unibin Games will appear? You guys think it is possible to get a merom in this board? Because Intel presented a merom test system with a 975 chipset and i it is still 479 socket, ok they have habit to change the socket often, but not the third time now? But the most interesting question how did the new boards perform with the patched Osx.
