kajac
Probably sounds like a dumb question but (as a newb to all things mac) here goes: I want to upgrade my daughter's iBook G4 from 10.3.9 to Leopard and I have the install disk. However my daughter doesn't know where her Office install cd is, or Photoshop. If I carry out this installation, will this software still be there and usable? If not this is going to be helluva lot more expensive than I thought!
Suprjacob
If you put the Leopard CD in WHILE the machine is running 10.3.9 (whatever that is), you should be able to upgrade, keeping your programs. Or maybe thats just for 10.4. I dunno. Try it.
adrock42
if your running 10.3 then you are prolly running old versions of the software, from before it was necessary to actually install them. before trying the upgrade pull the .apps out of the applications folder. also anything else you might want to save. i got a bunch of applications from the graphic design department of my old school this way. It should work tho. you might have to re-do some things, and prepare for incompatibilities here and there. apparently some older adobe products wont run on leo. a buddy of mine was cursing adobe for years after his upgrade.
