gyasih
Hello All- great work on all the distro's. My system is running somewhat smoothly,. I have just one issue-it randomly shuts down after a few minutes or during program installations and file transfers. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123946-crashing-system/ Share on other sites

Beerkex'd
You should put your CPU make and model in your signature too. Try the new StageXNU kernel for better compatibility (well that's my personal experience, YMMV) http://leo4all.uni.cc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=532 Don't forget to grab the matching system.kext too. Use PCWiz OSX86Tools to install both: http://######.com/osx86tools/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123946-crashing-system/#findComment-877395 Share on other sites
gyasih
Updating Kernel didn't work. I want to keep all four core, so I am reluctant to do Cpus=1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123946-crashing-system/#findComment-877974 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Check your BIOS settings: http://apple2pc.blogspot.com/2008/03/bios-...hackintosh.html If your motherboard has Intel ICHx drive controller, try this kernel extension: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=88335 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123946-crashing-system/#findComment-878348 Share on other sites

Beerkex'd
Can you try booting with CPUS=1 and try to provoke the crash? It will be helpful to know if it stops crashing with CPUS=1. gyasih
I'll try it tonight and post-thanks again. Update-with CPUS=1 the system seems to work, but i don't want my quad working as one. gyasih
Nope crashed again-it fooled me. It took longer to crash, don't know if Firefox did it. adamsweeting
How much RAM do you have? Are you using the JMicron.kext? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123946-crashing-system/#findComment-879286 Share on other sites
gyasih
How much RAM do you have? Are you using the JMicron.kext? I am using 4GB, but it was crashing when I had only 2GB in the System. No, I deleted JMicron.Kext. My system is all Sata and IDE is disabled in my Bios.
