shahidrogers
I've searched all around the forums, but I couldn't find a direct answer. I was wondering if it was possible to install an osx86 image without burning a dvd since I don't have a dvd burner? Is there any other way? Thanks in advanced. -shahid Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123556-install-osx86-without-using-a-dvd-drive/ Share on other sites

shahidrogers
how do you install from a memory stick? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123556-install-osx86-without-using-a-dvd-drive/#findComment-873926 Share on other sites
Hagar
Image/dd/restore/clone the disk image onto the stick and add chameleon. Easiest is to do this in os x (restore the image with disk util, run chameleon installer & select the usb stick, and done.) I've never tried doing it in windows, but it should be perfectly doable with a combination of cloning tools, transmac, dd etc. This assumes the image is pre-patched. if it is retail, you'll ned to add some boot-132 cleverness or patch for yourself. Taters
Has anyone tried Unetbootin? It seems as though it should work, but there doesn't seem to be any documentation. shahidrogers
UNetbootin looks interesting, but I wouldn't know how to apply that with the osx86 iso file I have. Taters
Select the disk image option instead of the distribution option, then just point it to your osx86 iso. Tell me if it works. I'm curious. Hagar
Time-honoured "native via vmware technique" - tends to have trouble with leopard, unfortunately. Hope it works for you. shahidrogers
Thanks for the headsup hagar. I'll give it a shot anyways, since I don't know how to install it in any other way. If anyone knows another way of installing it, it'll be appreciated. Thanks! :] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123556-install-osx86-without-using-a-dvd-drive/#findComment-874079 Share on other sites
