Alexan
Hi, I have installed Kalyway 10.5.1 on T61(NVS140) with no QE/CI support and I installed iLife 08 but I have a problem with iPhoto which is: I can see the photos but when I click on Edit I get a blank page with the thumbnails on the top, the weird thing that I can edit the photo (adjusting exposure and so) and after I click on "Done" I can see the effect of the editing in the main Library window or if I browse the photo with preview. So it is processing the image but not showing it while editing. Another issue is when I try to edit a Raw image(Canon 400D) iPhoto crashes. So does iPhoto require Quartz extreme or core image support? I've investigated online and I found a lot of people having this problem and I tried all the recommendations with no luck, even I reinstalled OSX and iLife, here are the things that I've done: 1- Rebuilt the Library 2- Checked the Library permissions for my user 3- Created a new user 4- updated iphoto and quicktime. 5- Rapaired the disk permissions 6- I checked the AppleAppSupport framework version (it is 1.5) So I am suspecting of two things either iphoto requires QE/CI support or the iLife image I have is corrupted. So can you please help me with this? Regards Alexan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122996-iphoto-08-problem-in-edit/ Share on other sites
erbic
I'm going to guess it requires QE/CI, but I don't know for sure. I'd at least try to get it working on your card, so you can see if that's the issue. What graphics card are you running? Still there is no working driver for this.I've already done my homework on that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122996-iphoto-08-problem-in-edit/#findComment-870153 Share on other sites
Lee Wilmeth
I can confirm that iPhoto 8 REQUIRES QE/CI. If you don't have video drivers that provide for that, you're not going to be able to use iPhoto 8, or Aperture 2.1. Great, you just saved me a lot of time on investigations, but what about earlier versions of iPhoto?
