tomehb
Hi guys, I'm a little be confused, on what to do next. I have uploaded my dxdiag output so you can view my system specfication. Also some basic's listed here: Alienware m15x Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz 4GB DDR2 NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX Realtek High Definition Audio I have just installed kalway 10.5.2 and upgrades using the kalway upgrade to 10.5.3. And now i would like advice/answers on the following: Question 1) I now wish to upgrade too 10.5.4, however i believe to do this straight from the delta update from the apple website i need to be running the vanilla kernel, which i believe i am as i selected it in the upgrade to 10.5.3. However what is the command to check this? Question 2) I also believe i need to configure EFI, before i upgrade? or is this already configured? And somone either explain this to me, or give me a link to a post that will Question 3) What is the best version of nvinject to use with the 8800m GTX, Any Ideas? Question 4) I have noticed that when i plugin my headphones, the sound is still playing via the laptop speakers? How do i adjust this? Question 5) What USB Wifi Dongle Would you suggest that i buy? Question 6) How do i get it so, i can view my battery etc? Power Managment... Gujal
1. As you are using Core2 CPU on a Intel chipset based motherboard, you can run vanilla kernel without any issues. 2. Get Chameleon bootloader and install it just to be safe, before upgrading. No harm in installing Chameleon bootloader even if EFI is already installed. http://chameleon.osx86.hu/file_download/10/Chameleon-1.0.11-installer.zip 3. NVinject does not work on any version beyond 10.5.2. You need to use Graphics string or Diabolik's nvkush 4. AppleHDA Patcher is not perfect. no work around 5. Look Here 6. Get ACPIbattery kext from Superhai's web site. Clamshell display is a nice addition too.
