So, i got 10.5.4 up and running perfectly, but i can't copy or use files (music, movies) from my external usb hard drives. They are NTFS formatted and i use Paragon NTFS, and it works on the internal hard drives that are NTFS formatted. But when i try to copy a file from my usb drives it gives me a "You don't have anough permissions to do this" error.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this problem?

go for macdrive 10

format your drives hfs and you have no troubles anymore.

for your error you need to repair the permissions, since ntfs driver in osx is only readable you cannot repair it.

I've formated the drive to Mac OS X Extended (journaled), but the same things keep happening. I can browse the disk but when i select a file to open, i get the "you don't have permission to do this". After that the files disappear from finder and i have to restart the drive to get them to show again.
