BebopBlues
I want to transfer my Vista partition to a new harddrive, but here's the problem. I currently have XP and Vista on dual boot. They are both on the same drive, XP on first partition, Vista on second. XP was installed first, Vista installed second, of course the Vista bootloader took over. So now on the new drive, I no longer want XP, just Vista. So I imaged the Vista partition with TrueImage, then restored it onto the new drive. But this isn't working because the orignal bootloader is on the XP partition, and TrueImage doens't know that. I get either "ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt" or other errors on bootup from the new drive. So how do I make Vista boot on the new drive without reinstalling Vista again? (Note: I don't want to repair the bootloader with the Vista DVD for obvious reasons. ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122041-vista-bootloader-problem/ Share on other sites
