I got the kernel panic telling me to restart my comp after complete install and reboot. I chose Kernel_Vanilla_92 which should be ok since it is core 2 architecture. Am I doing something else wrong? Which one should I choose?

Specs

Q6600

Asus Maximus Formula X38

4GB Trascend Axeram 1200mhz

HD 3870 X2

400GB Hitachi

500GB Western Digital

Lite on DVD drive

Sorry for the noob question

Edit: One other thing. What should I choose for the chipset driver?

Thanks

Kevin

Yep, I definitely installed the vid drivers and the fix that goes along with it. I tried the kernel_9.2_sleep and vanilla kernel and that gives me the same result after install. I'm now trying kernel 922 kabyl.

Edit: Nope same thing happened. This is a pain, but atleast I know it'll be worth it when I figure it out.

sorry to double post but I got it to work!!! Now I can work w/ Logic Pro....finallyyyyy

Bios I disabled everything in cpu configuration.

@ darwin bootloader I typed in -v -x

unticked audio, wifi, nvidia and left everything else default. Now I'm going to go back to my overclocked settings of 3.6ghz
