mikle78
Well.... im pretty new at this but i recently installed the Mac OS X using the kalyway 10.5.2 method and everything was going smoothly until the installation finished and the OS started to boot. Apparantly it just freezes on the gray/white apple screen. Btw i used the guide on this link http://sadgeekblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/in...pard-on-pc.html I read a bit on the hardware list and the specs of my desktop should be compatible Motherboard: ASROCK Wolfdale1333-D667 Chipset: Intel 945GC A2 Video: GMA950 Audio: Realtek ALC662 Processor: Intel Dual Core E2180 Ideas or opinions to help on this issue will be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance! Ztardust
Try booting in verbose mode. In Darwin press f8(if neccesary) and then type -v Then you might get some information about why this is happening. You could also try safe mode, by typing -x I can tell you that when I first installed OSX on my machine, there was something wrong with the ethernet settings, and it took 5-10 minutes to startup. So even if it seems like your machine has stopped(no harddisk activity for example), you might try just letting the machine stay on the gray screen for 10 minutes to check if it gets any further. If you get the gray stop sign, then there is no point in waiting. mikle78
Oh I've tried verbose mode and safe mode several times so i dont think that's the case I left the computer on for around an hour so it probably isn't that ethernet issue. It seems like my hardware just wasn't compatible since when i checked at the wiki my motherboard wasn't on the list of compatible hardware. I'm going to customize a new desktop based on the list on the wiki and see how it is. Thanks alot for your help though it was greatly appreciated!
