blogbod Posted August 26, 2005 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Finally got Markartiger.iso that was in a deadmoo torrent ho9w can I install it using a Mac? I need to install it on a hard drive than take it to work disconnect the primary master and replace it with my drive. That way I can quickly check what is the best hardware to run it on. That way I can quickly check what is the best hardware to run it on. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Since an x86 machine uses a different bios boot, you can't just put the disc in a Mac and install it (but it nearly works) The steps that I've been told go like this: 1) Install Darwin 8.0 using the PC 2) Upgrade Darwin to 8.1 (same kernel as 10.4.1) 3) Put harddisk in Mac 4) Use Pacifist to install the packages off the DVD 5) Install required patches (oah750d, IOATAFamily, etc) 6) Put disk in PC and boot. macgirl Posted August 26, 2005 Share Posted August 26, 2005 No need to update to 8.1.0 since OSinstall package has it all. I did my 1st install with Mac, then I restored the files to a X86 Darwin formated HD, also I did an install in PearPC then moved to a VMWare image. Deadmoo install was based on my method. The Last thing I did is to run Software Update on the Tiger Dev Install, it updated to 10.4.2 but now doesn't boot in VMWare/native. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
