highcontrast
hi first post anyway, for months i debated wether to take the plunge to and get a mac( mac pro) In the end it was just to much money, and i opted to build my own pc. I also opted to not get a iMac as i feel it would not have been sufficient for my heavy needs. so far i have been surprised by vista, i think its great. so i built this q6600( currently at stock) 4gb corsair ram Asus P5Q Pro Mobo Ati 4850 160gb Windows HDD 500gb media HDD Now I have always thought of using Leopard and installing it, but i have now decided i would like to. but having read the Wiki i couldn't see Mobo i have, nor the Ati Card. first problem! so am i right ? is it all over before it started? -- ALso, if it isn't( doubtful ) how reliable are they. I hear there are sound problems, if so , are they easy to fix? i listen to heaps on music on this, so i would be unable to use it if it had no sound. I would really appreciate it, if you could the time needed to answer my questions thanks ah, i have just read the 4850 is not supported currently , but is being worked upon. and also the P5Q is a possiblity? right? -- Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121790-initially-some-questions-then-resassurance/ Share on other sites

RahamanPatrick
Well I have no idea what I'm talking about as far as the advanced technical stuff goes but why not download a few disks, play with some combinations and see how much you can get working? highcontrast
right, I downloaded 10.5.1 Kalway , and burnt it to a dvd. I then rebooted , it showed the apple logo for a split second, and then restarted! Any ideas!
