Software Updater
I recently tried to install XP via bootcamp. I got it mostly installed and when it went to reboot to finish the install I got a message saying there is a hal.dll error. So I tried re-installing XP and I got the same problem. I don't know if it is the disk and if it is I don't want to re-purchase XP again. Here are my specs: Hardware Overview: Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook4,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.1 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 800 MHz Boot ROM Version: MB41.00C1.B00 SMC Version: 1.31f0 Serial Number: *********** Sudden Motion Sensor: State: Enabled If anyone knows why, or how to fix it please let me know. Thanks in advance, Hayden Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121745-bootcamp-problem/ Share on other sites
qwen3579
You need to boot from the XP installation CD and at the menu press "R" for "Recovery Console". In the Recovery Console, you will run "bootcfg /rebuild" (without quotes). If you need any help with the command type "bootcfg /?".
