Hello,

I want to invest a home theater system and it would be nice if I can use the surround outputs on my internal soundcard.

Can anyone confirm that the onboard soundcard works with its digital outs (optical or coax) or the analog outs (not just line/front outs but center and rear)?

Gigabyte P35-DS3L mainboard (ALC888) with Leo4Allv2.

THX in advance.

my 5.1 system went' kablooey sometime last year so i can't tell you if this works for 5.1 or not with this, but there have been mixed results, http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=112740

unfortunately taruga's wiki forums are down right now but you can try his HDAenabler.kext

Ahhhaa.

And how about an External USB SoundBlaster 5.1 soundcard? When I looked infos about the 5.1 solutioin, I saw some threads that SB card, and it seems it works.

If it works without problems, it is not a big deal (relatively cheap solution to get digital (or analog) 5.1 out from the OS) to buy a device like this one.

Anyway, thanks for your replies!
