Jammy343
Hello. My dell XPS M1530 is arriving in the next week and i am going to install Kalyway 10.5.2... im reading a tutorial on here and might get the Winload.exe error and it says you need to repare the computer with vista disk. (dual booting) dose the dell vista disk that comes with the laptop it allow repair? 'cause my toshiba came with a recovery disk, so i have no option of the repair. Im slightly concerned if it dosen't as i dont have any other vista disks. Thanks Jammy. Toonces Katt
The Vista disks it comes with is a standard OEM disk. It's not a recovery only setup like the Toshiba. Hello. NYC Coyote
The Dell OEM Vista disc will work perfectly. It is only a Vista disc that has specific information about dell motherboards slipstreamed into it, as well as a serial. When windows loads the first time (I say windows because this is also the case in xp) if it sees the right hardware, it will never ask you to authorize. If you put a dell disc in a non dell machine it will still install, but it will require the authorization. There are ways to change the oem info after the fact for pretty much any manufacturer (that sells machines with windows pre-loaded). You will have to google that though if it interests you.
