Chrysaor
Are you sure your X300 isn't HyperMemory and has dedicated memory? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12131-who-has-an-x300-in-there-osx-box/#findComment-76232 Share on other sites
macprodan
whats the diff. !! still should show as 128mb right. by hypermemory you dont mean using system memory do you..? i dont have a clue.. HyperMemory™ ATI has introduced a break-through technology called HyperMemory™ to take mainstream graphics performance to new levels of affordability and ensure that everyone can enjoy the ultimate visual experience. Today’s PC users expect new systems to provide a richer and more inspiring computing experience. They want to see their digital photos and videos in sharp, brilliant color, play the latest games with more realism and control, and increase their productivity when using the latest office applications. With an ATI graphics card in their PC, they can! What is it? HyperMemory™ is ATI’s innovative technology that enables a reduction in the amount of on-board memory on a graphics card without compromising its overall performance. Its advanced memory management technology makes more efficient use of all the available memory in computers with PCI Express® technology. Graphics applications can share system memory and use fast on-board memory for real-time processing between the graphics card and the computer’s memory. This ultimately increases the affordability of ATI’s RADEON® graphics technology. The Perfect Upgrade Upgrading a computer’s graphics can enhance all computing activities and complements other peripherals. Larger, modern computer displays require increased graphics performance to look their best. Products with HyperMemory improve overall system performance and image quality, especially in larger monitors, over standard integrated graphics processors. Digital photo editing, internet browsing, 3D gaming (including DirectX 9.0), and office applications are enhanced with higher monitor resolutions, vibrant image quality, and higher performance. These benefits are added to the PC at a lower cost than ever before. How do I get it? HyperMemory™ is available on select RADEON® desktop graphics cards, mobile graphics processors and chipsets, as listed below. RADEON® X300SE RADEON® X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® X300 SE 256MB HyperMemory™ MOBILITY™ RADEON® X300 Series MOBILITY™ RADEON® X300 128MB HyperMemory™ MOBILITY™ RADEON® X300 256MB HyperMemory™ MOBILITY™ RADEON® X600 Series MOBILITY™ RADEON® X600 128MB HyperMemory™ MOBILITY™ RADEON® X600 256MB HyperMemory™ MOBILITY™ RADEON® X600SE 128MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® XPRESS 200 Series for AMD platforms RADEON® XPRESS 200 64MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® XPRESS 200 128MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® XPRESS 200 256MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® XPRESS 200M 64MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® XPRESS 200M 128MB HyperMemory™ RADEON® XPRESS 200M 256MB HyperMemory™ mines just a X300 no SE so i would assume it does not have HyperMemory.. but im not 100% sure Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12131-who-has-an-x300-in-there-osx-box/#findComment-76265 Share on other sites
iamreal2
I have the SE version with HyperMemory. System Profiler won't show any info but VESA compatible(after patched kext). But it's working fine. Quite fast I think. It also reports 32MB instead of 128MB and PCI instead of PCIe~ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12131-who-has-an-x300-in-there-osx-box/#findComment-92514 Share on other sites
