orionshunter
Good luck in getting an answer. I've been asking for months about the same thing. People around here don't seem to want to help people that much unfortunately. Wicked Llama
I too am a noob but I read online that this is because of your HDD not being supported by the Macintosh installer/os hope that helps, Bryce Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121278-still-waiting-for-root-device-error/#findComment-869073 Share on other sites
delirumhappy
This problem is most common when your motherboard does not have a compatible HD Controller for Mac Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121278-still-waiting-for-root-device-error/#findComment-869134 Share on other sites
annunaki
Good luck in getting an answer. I've been asking for months about the same thing. People around here don't seem to want to help people that much unfortunately. The reason you won't get much help on questions like this is because it has been answered time and time again. Your answer is all over this forum. Before people start arbitrarily asking questions here, they should search first. People most certainly help others, and you'd see that if you bothered to read any of the posts. You're questions probably didn't get answered because you asked the same questions that get asked all the time. Search the forums before just posting. Here... www.google.com "still waiting for root device" site:insanelymac.com Or click here for the same search. Bottom line is...do your research first before you post!!!! Epic720
Except I did that, for 5 hours. And posted on here. I tried everything that was suggested and to no avail, I ended up starting all over from scratch... Sometimes people actually DO need help.... Hagar
Except I did that, for 5 hours. And posted on here. I tried everything that was suggested and to no avail, I ended up starting all over from scratch... Sometimes people actually DO need help.... 5 hours you expect to figure out a new OS in 5 hours... Give it a week or 2 before giving up next time. You can't even *install* windows in 5 hours unless you know what you're doing from before. Consider that for every topic like this, the actual answers become harder to find for the next guy that comes along. In the "Signal to Noise ratio" this is just more noise.
