Hello from my desktop PC! I got my laptop working a few weeks back, and now I installed OS X 10.4.5 onto my desktop without a hitch. :D

Steps:

Used partition magic to make 20GB free space.

Used XP's diskpart to make an AF partition.

Rebooted into 10.4.3 dvd.

Installed 10.4.3.

Rebooted into 10.4.4/5 dvd.

Installed updates.

Rebooted into 10.4.5.

Working:

PC Specs:

Sony VAIO RB53

Mac OS X 10.4.5(NEW! :D)/Microsoft Windows XP Dual boots both flawlessly

Intel Pentium 4 with HT 3.0 GHz | 1.25 GB SDRAM Dual Channel 400 mhz

HDD: 200 GB HDD | Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio(works) | Internet: Intel PRO/100 VE(works) | GPU: ATI Radeon x800 series(works flawlessly): QE enabled/QE2D enabled/CI enabled

(yes i copied it out of my sig :) )

MousePosé fixes mouse tearing.

I made a custom kernel with base-patch, amd-enabler, and non-x, and I did not apply the SSE2 patch; my PC supports SSE3.

Not Working:

iTunes full screen visualizer :(

Network Diagnostics panel(but who cares? My Internet works.. :) ) *FIXED*

Screenie:

:offtopic: :

Can anyone recommend any neat Mac games, or just neat applications? :)

EDIT: Fixed pc model..no such thing as RGB.

Hi,

I'm also on 10.4.5, but I did upgrade from 10.4.3 (I used patched DVD).

I had the same problem with Network Settings Sys Prefs, I used this method found here. Give it a try, maybe It'll help (just make file backups before).

Hmm.. didn't need to try that, it mysteriously started working. Thanks anyway though. Added a screenshot of my desktop. :(

I mixed up the ethernet adapter I have; it's my laptop with the realtek, not the RB53. What version of OS X are you running? On my laptop, the realtek ethernet worked in 10.4.3, but as soon as I switched to 10.4.5, it stopped.
