Eklectic
I just built a hackintosh and I have all the components working except for my SATA hard drive. I installed the OS on an IDE hard drive and I want to use the SATA Drive for data and backup. When i run the disk utilty in the OS X Installation I can access and partition the hard drive. However after I get OS X installed and running the hard drive disappears. My specs are: GA-P35-DS3L Mobo 4GB of Ram Geforce 8600 PCI-E Video Card Geforce 5200 PCI Video Card 30 GB Maxtor IDE HD 300 GB Western Digital Sata HD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120786-sata-hd-not-recognized/ Share on other sites
Gujal
Either set your SATA Controller to AHCI mode in BIOS (which will break XP if you have), or install the modified AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120786-sata-hd-not-recognized/#findComment-854833 Share on other sites

makwanad
Try a diff hard drive, or download kalyway and boot with -f. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120786-sata-hd-not-recognized/#findComment-855801 Share on other sites
Eklectic
I got it to work, i installed the modified AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext, and i turned ahci off in the bios. It works fine now.
