notahacker
Hello. I recently installed Kalyway 10.5.2 onto my Dell Vostro 200. (I upgraded the video card to a NVIDIA 7300GT w/ 256MB RAM; I'm also using a FA120 USB ethernet adapter, since the integrated Intel ethernet solution doesn't work.) The install went okay and I can boot up. The problem I have is that during the initial setup (welcome video, recognize keyboard, set language, etc...), the initial setup process constantly restarts after I try to get pass the part when initial setup asks you if you already have a mac or not. Since I don't have a mac, I always pick the last option, which is basically "no". Then I hear my hard drive spinning and then about 15 seconds later, the screen grays out and the welcome video starts again. Any advice? Thank you in advance, notahacker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120695-initial-setup-infinite-loop/ Share on other sites
MacProUser83
1. Run single user mode using the -s flag while booting 2. Mount the file system when you boot 3. Change the root password using the command "passwd root" 4. Touch (create) the .AppleSetupDone file by typing "touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120695-initial-setup-infinite-loop/#findComment-854416 Share on other sites
