if you give me a few days i will post if it will work, i got the same laptop and this is the first time it will even have mac installed on if it can be installed. i am doing it right now, and so far it seems it can be installed but to what extent.

ok, mac os x 10.5.2 will install on this laptop but there is a problem when booting up. you will need to use the non efi patch. i could not find a copy of the non efi patch unless you guys can point me to one.

I know this is an old thread but this is the most promising I have found on getting this laptop to work.

How exactly did you get 10.5.2 to install on the Acer Aspire 3000?

I have tried using JaS 10.4.8, Kalyway 10.4.11, Kalyway 10.5.2, 10.5 Vanilla install, JaS 10.5.4 and iDeneb 10.5.5. All of them get a "still waiting for root device".

If I try using rd=disk0s1 when loading the installer I get a Kernel Panic with each installer. Each installer also experiences the panic at the same point when loading the System files.

My laptop is the same make and model as the op's. The only differences being mine has an AMD Sempron 2800+ and 768MB RAM

Hey,

So I have been trying for an epic long time to get Mac OS X 86 on my friend's Acer Aspire 3000. I got really close once with the Leo4All V2 install disk but got that waiting for root device error as well. To get around that I hooked up an external DVD drive to the computer and was able to pull up the GUI for the install. However, it lagged during the install. Hope this helps you out though.
