Hi,

I installed ideneb, rebooted and everything worked great. Quartz was working, keyboard fine, ethernet worked flawlessly, etc,etc,etc...

HOWEVER,

After using the system for an hour or so, I did a restart and was not able to get back in. Every time it starts with the darwin prompt, then it loads about 15 seconds into the grey apple loading screen, then suddenly I hear the hard drive make a reset sound and the system reboots. I tried booting with flags -v -f -x -s update -v, but same thing every time. Thought it might be a bad install so I reburnt the disk at a slower speed, reinstalled.... same exact thing.

Here are the options I chose when inatalling:

AMD

9.4 Modbin

nForce apple controller

nvidea 256

forcedeth network controller

I tried to pick out the errors in Verbose mode... don't remember exactly what it was but something like "waiting for boot volume with UUID" and "warning: phy connection failed"

Desperate here... please help!

M2N-E SLI

AMD Athalon 64x2 6000+

300 GB ATA/ 500 GB Samsung

2 GB 800 Mhz Ram

Nvidea 7600GT XFX Fatality

  • 1 month later...

I dodnt even get the apple screen with my iDeneb. It just reboots upon darwin.

An I really have no idea what to do at this point.

System:

Asus M2N32-Sli

5000+

4 gigs ddr

ati video card x550...is this compatible or should I chnge it.

I can try another system wich is similar except for:

Phenom 9500

7300GT nvidia

8 gigs ddr2

By no means am I an expert, (just started this OS X on PC's thing a few days ago) but after extensive reading I seem to recall problems when having more than 2GB of ram, and fixes out there for it.

*******updated

Found this:

4GB RAM 4 GB CAUSES RANDOM FREEZES DUE TO INCOMPATIBILITY IN THE NFORCE ATA DRIVERS FOR 64 BIT MODE! NO PROPER SOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE. ONLY TWO WORK AROUNDS. 1) USE ONLY 2GB RAM LEFT IN THE PC, 2) USE MAXMEM=3072 VALUE IN THE COM.APPLE.BOOT.PLIST FILE FOR START UP...

Hope it helps :censored2:
