StupidKiller Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 Hello i want to buy a new computer, ive selectet follow hardware Videocard EVGA Geforce 9800gtx+ status work with patch from aquamac Processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 status works now i search a motherboard for the Videocard with works with hackintosh. I have found the motherboard from Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 have someone testet it ? Does ist Work ? starfox5194 Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 A really nice moterboard is the evga 780i or the 790i. If you are looking for DDR3 Ram ion the future i would get a 790i mobo. I personally was looking at getting the 780i because it uses DDR2 ram (i already have some) and if youre lucky you can overclock your ram to 1600 MHZ WOW. Thats close enough to DDR3 for me. Both MOBOS work with OSX86 well. 790i Sound wont work. They both dont work with EFI because of The nvidia chipset. If you plan on getting another 9800 GTX+ this is the mobo to go. At first thank to you for the fast posting, but i have a question you wrote that EFI doesnt work but at the guide from aquamac are postet You have to have EFI V8. It will not work with V7 to V7.4 When it doesnt support EFI does the 9800gtx+ work ? I want to use 2x Transcend DIMM 4 GB DDR2-800 Kit Another question is have someone a motherboard in user that work with sound at this time ? starfox5194 Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 sorry i didn't do research before i posted it was off the top of my head. Normally when aquamac says that things work, they work. So mabye efi emulation works. The 780i mobo Has sound working with patches that you can get from most of the osx86 DVD's. I'm pretty sure JAS 10.5.4 has all of the drivers you should need for the 780i The 790i will probably never work with sound because no one has made sound drivers for X-fi audio.
