F1skr Posted August 11, 2008 Share Posted August 11, 2008 Hey first my specs: Intel pentium 4 @ 3.0 Ghz Geforce 6600gt @ 128MB (Club 3d) ASRock 775VM800 agp MOBO, Chipset: VIA P4M800 2GB PC3200 RAM 180 GB 5.400 RPM HDD IDE DVDRW type is IDE Keyboard and mouse both: PS/2 EDITED: my specs hope there are enough and it helps? I have made a dvd from the Kalyway 10.5.2, and i'm able to boot from the DVD and start installation, when i start installation it first checks the dvd it says, when that is done and installation starts then i get a failure: Could not creat the folder /Volume/.... (new name of the folder every time BaseSystem.pkg.712637236 or something like that (the num,ber changes every time i try)) and i can choose to restart and try again. Since i don't know much about how the installation works, i don't have any clue what the problem could be, and since the search function does not work in this forum ( i really can make it work) i can't search for simular posts. Therefor i hope some of you can help me find the problem or give a hint what to look for. In Advance thx! Firstly, when giving system details, as well as the information you have given already, it is very helpful to include the motherboard model number, motherboard chipset type (Intel, nForce, VIA, ATI etc., using CPU-Z for example), graphics card type, model number AND video RAM, the hard drive type (SATA or PATA [i.e. IDE]), the DVDRW type (SATA or PATA), keyboard and mouse (PS/2 or USB) and other device IDs e.g. chipset details, etc...... Secondly search in Google but include InsanelyMac as a search term too along with what you are searching for.... Gujal Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 As your MB is based on VIA Chipset, you may have to patch your Kalyway 10.5.2 iso with thestevo's 4.5 patch.
