Bouie
Ok... here's my problem... Everytime I try to boot I get this error that says: unable to find driver for this platform ACPI I have tried booting with all different flags inc. platform=x86pc Thing is this... I can boot system with either of these settings: only just 1 piece of ram.. Or if I put a retarded OC setting in bios making it reverting to factory settings upon boot.... I have tried loading factory settings on my Mobo too.. although to no prevail.. which is kinda wierd since the OC revert should mean the exact same thing... While I'm in OSX I get no random freezes nor any lag.. Which is why I think this has something to do with my Kext file.... ps. this time I booted I noticed something strange when I pressed tab to see the bios post... it says my processor is @ 3.02 Ghz... could this be why I can't boot without OC settings?? since I can't make any adjustments in bios to make it go to 3.02Ghz with Ram still standing at 667Mhz... tried putting processor there and Ram at 669 but not working.... ds. Anyhow read something about ACPI kext permissions... if that could help I'd like to know how it works and why it would help ^^ Sry for my bad grammar but I'm in kind of a hurry so might be a bit off.... The ACPI Error looks like this error.. will try to write down my personal error now... Maybe a line off but the info seems to be the same..'' npchas=4095 hi mem tramps at 0xffe00000 PAE enabled non-INTEL boot process Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.0: Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 standard timeslicing quantum is 10000 us vm_pagebootstrap: 384442 free pages and 8774 wired pages mig_table_max_displ = 79 Local APIC version not 0x14 as expected extension "com.apple.kernel.iokit" cannot be found can't determine immediate dependencies for extension com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform Can't determine dependencies for cam.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform. Gujal
You can try Kalyway 10.5.2 disk with JaS 10.4.8 ACPI/APIC drivers and use cpus=1 -v to boot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120372-acpi-kext-error/#findComment-856999 Share on other sites
