I had a problem with Leopard one morning and now I have to uninstall (I've blanked the drive now)

I have a time machine backup which I want to use. I understand my options are:

1) Reinstall from DVD and then choose to transfer files from time machine drive, using my Kalway 10.5.1 disk.

2) Do a complete restore from the time machine backup and then manually reinstall a boot loader.

However I can get nither option to work and have been reading this forum and trying different stuff ever since wednesday.

Option 1: Full reinstall gives the error "Cannot validate BaseSystem". while calculating disc space, the install DVD verifies fine. I'm confused cause I installed twice before on this very same system without a single error or problem.

Option 2: Restore time machine backup and then manually install a loader.

I've used the script here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=86579&hl=#

When I select the EFI boot option I get: b0 error displayed on screen when trying to boot.

When I select the Darwin boot loader I get "com.apple.Boot.plist not found"

can someone help?? I'm going crazy!
