hi im's ;)

i dont know if its worth been posted here but well when i tried to use the search i alwas end up with:

The error returned was:

There was an error processing the request. Please go back and try again, or contact an administrator for assistance.

connection to unix:///var/socketproxy/insanelymac.com/searchd:0 failed (errno=2, msg=No such file or directory)

but that is not the point why i'm posting. about 2 weeks ago i quit trying to install os x on my computer because i had no luck except with leo4all but it was a pain also (freezes etc...) what i wanted to try now is that i maybe get os x installed on my hp notebook.

so this is where some questions came up... first of all this is the sys:

Model: HP Pavilion dv9047ea

CPU: AMD Turion 64X2 TL-52

Mainboard: Quanta 30B9

Chipset: Nforce 410/430 MCP

Graphic: GeForce 7600 GO

RAM: Samsung 1024MB DD2-SDRAM PC5300

Audio: Conexant HD Audio

DVD-Writer: Phillips DVD-RAM SDVD8821

Cardreader: Ricoh

HDD: 2 Fujitsu MHV2100 BH PL (each has 100GB) SATA

WLAN: Broadcom BCM43XX

Current OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

os x image collection: Kalyway 10.5.2, Leo4All v3, iAtkos 2.0 + 4.0i, Retail of Mac OS X (which i used for the boot-132 method)

so my questiones are: does my sys offer the recommended specs for os x? which os x version should fit for installation? how do i setup multiboot with Win XP? do i need some special installationsteps because of the AMD processor or even because its a notebook and not a big machine?

it would be nice if someone could offer any help *saying "hello" to haxi  *

greetings from germany

Hi Vetz,

I do not have an AMD CPU system that I have installed OS X on....... but your AMD processor is SSE3 capable......so this thread may help you.......or this one ....... :)

tried it today too and this is where i end up:

img-resized.pngIMG_0042Fvw2.JPG

second part of the error message:

IMG_00438G18.JPG

i had 3 partitions... one with win xp, one data/storage and a HP recovery partition. i was trying to install os x on the data/storage partition so i formated it with fat32 but the first time there was "NTFS volume name DATA, version 3.1" written besides "NTFS volume name OS, version 3.1"...

€dit: i tried lawlessppc 10.5.4

leo4all caused a lot of more problems... and i even didnt get to the osx installer. now i booted with the lawlessppc osx image in the dvd drive and everything seems fine now... the only thing that isnt functioning is the keyboard of the laptop... i have to use a external usb keyboard

Regarding the mDNSResponder error messages, it forms the basis of the Bonjour service discovery as implemented in OS X (and also Bonjour for Windows); Bonjour is a networking technology that enables the networking of computers and devices without any configuration. I have seen a report of the same issue with a HP Pavilion DV9014EA laptop.....but no solution..... :(

Can you disable the onboard LAN in the BIOS temporarily?

Or is it working OK now.....:)

right now i'm sitting in front of my hp hackbook :) but the built in keyboard doesnt work also the touchpad...

then your LAN must be working..... :(

besides the keyboard that is not working i only could boot up using the lawlessppc cd

Have you gone through procedure here......to see if that sets up your HDD OS X volume as bootable on its own..... :(

Re keyboard and trackpad check here....... :)

allright seems pretty good so far... only 3 problems left :) first: no wlan (its a broadcom 802.11 or something), cant change the resolution higher than 1024x768 and again the "cable-lan" isnt working. i dont even see any networkcontroller at the system configuration menu.... only firewire.

EDIT:

i tried using this fdisk method in a booted os x but it says that i dont have any permissions

Hi Vetz, which of the following is your Broadcom card

Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g

Broadcom 802.11 b/g

Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter

Broadcom 54g MaxPerformance 802.11g

knowing may help you find a solution......I am not currently aware of one...... :) .....but that may change....... :)

If you are booted from the Install DVD you should not need permissions.......but if you are then try

sudo fdisk -e /dev/rdisk...... and enter your password BTW in ..... enter your disk number but you know that ;)

i got broadcom 802.11a/b/g . you can still PM me so we dont spamm at all here ;) but maybe if some users have the same problems it would help.

and again big thanks to you haxi. i wouldnt know what to do without your advice :)

but i still cant change my resolution. i tried nvkush before but it didnt change anything... got a GeForce Go 7600 in it.

What is your Video RAM? Anyhow, check here.......and here......either one may work or both...... :D

256mb

See my previous post at the first "here"..... ;) and if these don't help then check here.....

For wireless networking check here.......:)

i'm still stuck at the problem that i have to use the cd to boot up into os x

i followed this tutorial here you gave me haxi and i also tried "sudo fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0" but nothing worked so far. i have to insert the cd to get into os x. and when i'm in it its a pain to browse through it. everything lags and clicks take decades.

i didnt had the chance to try the other stuff like fixing network and change the resolution.

Have you set up dual booting yet......I presume XP is installed in the first volume on the HDD?

If not then check here......

i've decided to install os x only... is there something special during the installation then? right now i'm still stuck on

"System config file `/com.apple.boot.S/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist´ not found

(i also could setup win xp if it's necessary to do something special)

HP dv6000 AMD thread

Thanks for suggesting this thread to vetz too..... :) Others are having this problem too......from Zef's Chameleon blog:

Hi, Zef! I had exactly the same problem: even after apply Chameleon loader to iso (md5_after checked) i get that message:

"/com.apple.boot.S/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist not found".

My hardware is a laptop HP Pavillion dv6000.

Can you help us with that problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Vetz,

If you do not find a way in the HP dv6000 AMD thread above to solve your booting problem, you could still try just installing the Chameleon bootloader by Zef or just installing the PC_EFI v8 bootloader by Netkas, using OSx86Tools to replace your current bootloader on the HDD....it may work for you.....I hope..... :)

For Broadcom wireless networking also check here.....:)

i'm trying leo4all v3 as we speak but it gives me the same error at bootup....

This is bad news for you..... :( I wonder if the various DVD installers do not have your Fujitsu MHV2100 BH PL device IDs in their ATA drivers that they are installing......I note that on an Asus A7Jc it has been reported in HCL 10.4.8/Portables webpages that:

--- Clean installation with jas 10.4.8 dvd with 8.8.1 kernel include, used grub to triple boot with Windows XP and Kubuntu.

- CPU: Intel Core Duo 1,6 ghz T2300 (Works with dual core support out of the box)
- RAM: 2 GB 667 mhz Nanya/Corsair (Works out of the box)
- Hard disk: FUJITSU MHV2100BH 100Gb Sata 5400 rpm (Working out of the box)
- DVD-Writer: TSST-l532m (Works out of the box, no info about lightscribe support)
- Video: Mobility X1600 512mb (256mb shared) (Working at 1440x900 with full QE/CI and dual monitor)

so I wonder if it is worth you trying the new JaS OSx86 10.5.4 Client Server Intel SSE2 SSE3 release......obtainable in Internet space...... :D
