I am curious. What laptop under 700 can run leopard flawlessly. (wifi, sound, screen and etc.)

Thanks

If you find one let me know. I have been looking and reading and trying to sort through to find a laptop that I could buy and start messing with leopard. I wish someone would keep a recent page or answer your question. Good Luck.

That's odd, a propriatery dell would work fine with leopard.. but the desktops and xps series have more trouble. Mostly due to because dell uses ATA for their hard drives and ICH for the cd/dvd drives. So sometimes the distro will install but then you get a no root device error when booting from the hard drive. Also not many options available in the bios.

Thats strange, I have a Latitude D820 and i cant even get past the configuration screen during the initial launch. It installs fine but it LAGS SO MUCH that you cant even use it. I have tried iAtkos, Kalyway, and iDeneb and get the same thing everytime

Go for Acer Aspire 3680!

Everything works fine than 56k Modem and CardReader..

GMA950 > Working!

Yukon Ethernet > Working, need some patches

Broadcom Wireles > Working as an AirPort

PCMCIA Slot > Working, need some patches

CD Burning > Working

2-Finger Scrolling > Working, need some patches

:D

My opinion would be to try and find any laptop that has the PM965 chipset as I believe that the last generation MacBook used it also, and if you want to get a little more video performance like the MacBook Pro, get a laptop with the PM965 and any of the supported video cards.

In the begining of the year, I had an MSI GX600 with a Nvidia 8600M GT and 90% of it worked out of the box with Kalyway 10.5.1. I even upgraded mine with an Intel Extreme X7800 CPU overclocked to 2.9 GHz !!! I would think that more of it would work now with the advances made in OSX86 in the last few months. I hope this helps. God Bless ;)

Hack book Pro??

Is there anything out there that would work close or better than a mac book pro.. with 512 mb graphics card. I really want some power for video editing, photo, and gaming with a webcam. I just can't spend like 3k for it? Anyone got one working well or know of a laptop near or less than 1,500.

I appreciate it so much. God Bless you all!
