Since there pretty much aren't any Apple branded Macs where you can swap H/W , my question is the following:

Is it illegal to write a driver for a piece of hardware, where in theory, is impossible to install on an Apple branded Mac?

Could Via, for example, get in trouble for releasing OSX86 drivers? Could they claim it's a "Darwin" driver?

I'm wondering if some companies will start selling 100% compatible non-official Macs. Of course, they won't call it that.

This begs another question:

Could Apple pull previously released Open Source code and make it non open source once again? If so, what was the original intent on their part then?
