eggomiego
Hi there, Ive had osx86 for a while now. Have had no problems with anything, just a minor inconvenience. Whenever I put my computer to sleep, the monitor just freezes, but doesnt turn black. Is there anyway to fix this? Sleep is working fine. My specs are: Mobo:Intel DG31PR CPU: Intel E2180@2.0ghz stock 1 Gig of cheap ass RAM Using built in video. Leo4all V2. Updated to 10.5.3 with kalyway combo updater. Then used software update for 10.5.4. Kept Vanilla kernel 9.2.2 during update. Then updated to Vanilla 9.4.0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120033-sleep-monitor-wont-turn-off/ Share on other sites

kilven
Put it in sleep, wake it up, open terminal and run "sudo dmesg" if it says System Dose then it isn't actually going into sleep mode. SticMAC™
No, your problem is, your system is not putting your monitor to sleep! and what Dytona said IS quite relevant! Some displaycards react differently to the Sleep signal and does not initiate a monitor powerdown! The message "System Doze" IS telling you that it is not going into Sleep mode but merely "dozing", so if you are smarter than those trying to help then why don't you figure it out yourself and tell the rest of us! SticMAN sorry to break it to you. thats not my problem lol... the problem is my monitor doesnt go to sleep Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120033-sleep-monitor-wont-turn-off/#findComment-858766 Share on other sites
eggomiego
Haha. Sorry, if you're trying to get to me.. its not working. I understand what he said, and know the whole graphics card with sleep thing. I just know that a lot of people with my same motherboard have no problem with sleep. Thats why I'm asking,I'm the only person that I've heard that has this problem with the DG31PR. Aswell, where are these so called people that are trying to "help" me. Only thing thats been useful is the terminal command, which I already had tried. ihou
Hah , nice to finally find that i am not alone in the world with this problem. It's exactly the same thing. When the sleep timer tries to turn off my monitor only the picture freezes. And the monitor is left on. I changed my videocard from Ati PCI-E X600 XT to Ati PCI-E HD3650, and it's still the same. I tried with different monitors but it could not sleep any... So far I've had Kalyway 10.5.2, Leo 4 All v1,v2 and iDeneb 10.5.5 running but same result on both. Finally i tricked it with a single black pixel set as a screen saver. But there is still a low light left on the screen. it's not a pitch-black.... Please if anyone finds a solution for this, share it or make a Topic...
