Sk8er_Square
hey guys! Ive just completed a very successful Leopard vanilla install using Kalyway 10.5.2 > Kalyway 10.5.3 and then the 10.5.4 delta update. Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 Board - the only problems im having now is directly related to the sound - its receiving glitches like crackling and fuzzing which although barable its frustrating - this is especially apparent on things such as MSN messenger. Ive tried the Taruga patch solution - which got working audio but the glitches were apparent. I then went through single user mode to manually copy an AppleHDA and ALCInject patch - which were listed in another topic as a fix but still no dice. If anyone knows of a solution or the best kexts for a kalyway vanilla leopard 10.5.4 install to fix the glitch - let me know. Cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119792-alc889a-1054-glitches/ Share on other sites

Sk8er_Square
Instructions were included - Believed to be going well - as soon as another sound wants to be played - they both fuzz. This is noticable when listenin to itunes and emptying the trash or having mac messenger running and the toasts making the noise. schnullimaus
Hi, i have had similar issues, and some sources in other threads pointed it down to the kernel not properly detecting the FSB frequency. Another symptom is that the time-of-day clock looses time if you disable clock synchronisation via NTP. One solution always was to use the modbin modded Kernels instead of vanilla ones. It looks like I've just found another solution: installing chameleon EFI Bootloader instead of PC_EFI. You get it at chameleon.osx86.hu Good Luck!
