jjoe
Same problem here. I tried ' -x "Graphics Mode"="1280x800x32" platform=ACPI or platform=X86PC', but my resolution is still in 1024x768. I also tried "1280x1024x32", but it doesn't work either. any ideas? My card is Mobility Radeon 9600 64mb. Thanks. maxx2097
I tried to edit the com.apple.plist file... but it says that it's read only! I can't modify it! You have to edit this file as user root... to do this type: sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist in your Terminal cheers maxx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11964-changing-resolutions/#findComment-75347 Share on other sites

I've QE enabled already... go to com.apple.Boot.... . . under kernal flags type </string>"Graphics Mode"="1400x1050x32"</string> if you want 1400x1050 as your resolution.. otherwise change it to what you want.. then go to sytem/library/extension search for ATI, delete the ATI extensions.. reboot and you will have any resolution you want or atleast you shoudl Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11964-changing-resolutions/#findComment-77242 Share on other sites
MarlboroEdo
With x600 on my laptop (Sony Vaio a317m) I can't go over 1024x768, so if it doesn't work is not your fault. A good start to see what resolutions are supported is: 1) Boot your machine 2) Enter "?video" at boot options selection. You'll see the currently supported resolutions Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11964-changing-resolutions/#findComment-77285 Share on other sites

Delete ATI extensions? Which one? ALL? I never read about that... does it works for sure? Delete ATI extensions? Which one? ALL? I never read about that... does it works for sure? Thanks, I've tried this method -- running an HP Pavilion zd8000 with Radeon x600 Mobility and 1440x900x32 res -- the com.apple.Boot.plist method does *not* work for this card. I'm not sure why, I've tried 1000x and always to no avail. I've got QE, etc., but resolution changing just doesn't work yet.
