Shimms
Hello, I've just tried to install 10.4.4 from a 10.4.3 installation. After installing from 10.4.3 I can reboot into single user mode and do what needs to be done. After restarting again and booting with verbose mode I get up to localhost mDNSResponder: Adding browse domain local. and then hangs there. Any suggestions? Darth Noor
Did you try copying the AppleVIAATA extension? Did things stop working after your did that? Because that seems to be the case for me. It seems that the AppleVIAATA extension causes all kind of troubles. I am having slow disk transfers under 10.4.4/5 but copying over the old 10.4.3 AppleVIAATA extension caused the disk to not be readable at all. I actually bought a newer ATA drive to test all of this with and the problem of the main disk not being readable went away! But I now have the DNSResponder hanging at boot uo. It only hangs when the AppleVIAATA extension is used, not when I delete it and let the system use the GenericATA extension. This is weird... Anyone have any ideas of what is going on? I installed 10.4.4 from a 10.4.3 installation using the Maxxus instructions and the Myzar 10.4.4/5 image. I only installed the base packages from the iso image, and used the 10.4.3 IOATAFamily and IOUSBFamily extensions.
