navid24
Hello All, I just finally installed my first hakaintosh Kalyway 10.5.2 after 2 weeks of hard work... I just want to share with you the steps that I did maybe it can help for some of you too. First , here my spec: Dell D610 A06 bios version, 1GB , Intel Dual core , video drive: Intel By the way I did try (Leo4All, iatkos v2,Kalyway 10.5.1) but as I said The only one that works for me was 10.5.2 So I did it like this: First I did install the system on D600 Pentuim M, the installer works for me only with D600 (Tried D610,D620,D630) After I did install the system I moved the HD to my D610 why I did that ... because when I boot the system with D600 the system hungs with "using xxxx buffer headers and xxxx cluster IO buffer headers" so as I said when I took the HD to D610 with A06 bios version I didn't get hunged and it boot up but I face to another problem it boot up but I didn't see any thing on screen only the blue desktop after searching this amazing fourm I found this solution. boot with F8 -s /sbin.fsck -fy /sbin/mount -uw / ./movevideodrivers answer yes to all exit the every thing wrok fine included LAN & Audio the only thing that not work yet is wifi card... so if anyone has a solution I relly want to know Hope it will help some of you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119519-finally-installed-1052-kalyway-on-d610/ Share on other sites

By the way, to get the installer working on d610 just plug in an external monitor and it will take you right into the installer. If the external monitor doesn't work the first time, use Ubuntu's Live CD to erase the drive to unformated and everything should work. Your laptop might even boot into the installer by itself without the external monitor. Again, my question is...What all did you select in the customize menu, when you installed it on the d600? mschilling
There's tons of info on here if you search for "dell d600". I just picked up a couple tips for a) booting successfully while on battery power and installing Kaly10.5.1 without doing any extra work besides picking SSE2 kernel. Just a couple of BIOS tweaks: turning off the LAN, and selecting "thorough" in the startup. The old dell d600 is an awesome hackbook, with everything working.
