seventstrat
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and OS X, and I appreciate any help I receive on this issue... I've been trying to follow this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...rt=#entry511050 to get my ati firegl 5250 run QE/CI at 1680x1050....but i have not been succesful thus far....I'm assuming that I'm just modifying one of the kext files wrong but I'm not really sure.... I did everything it said on the guide on a fresh install (like my 15th fresh install....) and now when it boots, it gets an apple logo and then the screen goes to garbage... My Device ID is the D471 Manufacteor ID is 1001 EDID: 00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 244D8728 00000000 000F0103 80211578 0ABCA598 58558B2824505400 00000101 01010101 01010101 01010101 0101A82F 90E0601A 1040204013004BCF 10000019 B72790E0 601A1040 20401300 4BCF1000 00190000 000F00B3 0A32B30A 28140100 320C0000 000000FE 004C5031 35345730 322D544C 3036007F If anybody could help me mod the stock files or upload em or tell me what I'm doing wrong....it would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Seventstrat Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119224-help-with-t60p-firegl-5250/ Share on other sites
zillac
Try this: http://17th.name/2008/07/28/ati-firegl-v5250-for-leopard/ First replace the Kexts, and you should get QE/CI. and then you have two choice, 1. Apply ATIINJECT/GFXSTRING, plist and hex file can be found in above link, and there's plenty of guide on how to insert them. However, there's problem with lid close/opening, which I'm looking for a fix. 2. Set Graphics Mode in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1680x1050x32</string> no lid problem, but no resolution change, and will also be mouse tearing. Any luck on the Lid close issue? I am working on fixing the same problem. What have you found out so far?
