FakeJosh
hey, i pretty much have my system working at 99%... the 1% is this weird cursor anomaly: when i first boot up into the desktop, my cursor has no shadow.. you would think this would indicate no QE/CI ... however, they are indeed working as they should. If i change the resolution and then change it back to my original resolution (without rebooting), magically the cursor shadow appears... anybody have the slightest idea what's going on? this is the last thing that is bugging me about my hackintosh system! SticMAC™
No solution for you but, I have two machines, a Dell Dimension 9200 with a EN7300GS 256MB displaycard and a HP DV6716EZ with a GMA X3100 144MB. They both have QE/CI enabled, both can rotate, mirror etc, etc.... However, the HP's cursor has a shadow and and the Dell's NOT! I also had a ATI x1300 PRO 256Mb in the Dell before which didn't support QE/CI and it also didn't have a shadow! so I don't think it is anything to worry about!? SticMAN ps I just like the shadow as it gives that "3D" feel edit: I just found this... It's dependent on your graphics hardware. From the graphics folks: "On machines that can support hardware cursors with the SOVER compositing effect (the translucency thing that makes the shadow), you'll see the version of the cursor with the shadow. On machines that only support the bit mask style of transparency (transparent or opaque only), you'll get the other style of cursor." FakeJosh
believe it or not, that actually helped.. I have a 7300GS... i ordered it by mistake, meaning to order the GT version since Apple used to include the 7300GT on the base Mac Pro model.
